Welcome to CampStaffUSA!

Are you interested in recruiting for our summer camp programs?

  • Do you currently recruit for the summer work travel program with summer dates within the time frame of June 5th through August 30th?
  • Do you know students currently studying culinary arts, sports management, hospitality, parks and recreation, and international business among others, who want hands-on experience in a related field of study?
  • Do you know teachers, youth workers, coaches or athletes who would love to work in the US in the professional yet informal setting of summer camp?

Summer camp employment provides unique opportunities to practice field related skills in hands-on environments building resume experience and confidence! In addition, camp employment is one of the best venues for truly promoting cultural exchange programs.  Participants live in community based environments with a built in support system and are actively engaged with other staff and campers from the US and world-wide on a day to day basis.  It is hard work. There are long hours, and in most cases, limited privacy, but if they enjoy working with children or working as a team in camp-like settings, they will build an impressive resume, learn new skills and have the summer of a lifetime!

Camps typically provide living accommodations and meals as part of their compensation so there are no living expenses or worries for the participants as well.

Camps vary in program, facilities, location, camper population, size, and other factors so there is not one description that can be provided to encompass all considerations, however, most all of the staffing summer camps need fall into two categories: camp counselors and support staff. We offer a glimpse into what each role entails and how the accommodations and expectations may differ.

Expected Salary & Compensation

Most summer camps are exempt of minimum wage and overtime laws.  Camps that are exempt offer a set salary that is equal to or more than our posted structure for a 9 week period.  Participants are paid on a daily rate for time worked over and beyond the 9 weeks.

Some camps are not exempt of minimum wage and thus will follow state and federal mandates for hours and pay.  Where employers provide residence, they may be permitted to deduct set costs for lodging and meals.
